no new mythology

As an author, the central focus of my work is grief, particularly its manifestations in memory, history, ritual, and the stories we develop to live alongside loss. Because we do not live in a culture that affords us the opportunity to deeply engage with the complexities of grief—even though we all experience it—creating space in my writing to explore grief is a priority. This has become even more important in the last two years: during a pandemic that has killed millions of people worldwide and upended every aspect of our lives, there is a pervasive narrative about returning to normal, as if devastation leaves us a normal to return to.

No New Mythology is a monthly literary series exploring loss, illness, and grief through the lens of mythology. Inspired by lifelong love of myths and a dedication to continue creating space for grief in my art, I’m excited to share this series with you beginning Fall 2022.

Stay tuned for previews, news, and special offers coming this summer!
